Legacy Leopards and Memorial Mavericks Kick Off Home Volleyball Season with Electrifying Wins, Fueled by Passionate Fan Sections
The atmosphere at Legacy High School and Memorial High School was nothing short of electric as both schools hosted their inaugural home volleyball games this week. The Leopards and the Mavericks delivered strong performances, securing victories in their first-ever home matches. But it wasn't just the players who shone on the court—their dedicated student sections, known as The Hilltop Howlers and The Bull Pen, played a pivotal role in creating an unforgettable evening.
At Legacy High School, the Hilltop Howlers lived up to their name, bringing a wave of energy and enthusiasm that resonated throughout the gym. The raucous support from the stands was a key factor in the Leopards' success, as they fed off the crowd's excitement and maintained their momentum against a tough opponent. Head coach Stephanie Dorsey was quick to acknowledge the impact of the student section, stating, "It was incredible having such a strong student presence last night at our game! The energy the Hilltop Howlers brought was infectious, and really helped to keep the excitement of the gym going."
Over at Memorial High School, The Bull Pen was equally formidable. The Mavericks’ fans created an atmosphere that was as intense as it was supportive, keeping the energy high from the first serve to the final point. Memorial’s head coach, Kelli Barnett, praised the student section's contribution to the team’s victory: "The Bull Pen was incredible last night. Their energy was contagious and played a huge role in keeping the momentum on our side of the court."
Both schools have set the bar high for the rest of the season, not just with their on-court performances, but with the undeniable impact of their fan sections. The Hilltop Howlers and The Bull Pen showed that a passionate and engaged student body can be the difference between winning and losing.
